Welcome to the AI4Casting Hub, an innovative initiative under the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS) at the University of Guelph. We are thrilled to embark on this groundbreaking journey and invite you to join us in exploring the future of public health forecasting and preparedness.

Who we are

The AI4Casting Hub is a collaborative effort led by the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Guelph. Our team is comprised of esteemed researchers, including our newly appointed Director, Dr. Monica Cojocaru, Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at CEPS and a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Backed by the expertise of Ontario Public Health, the CDC, and renowned Canadian researchers, we are committed to advancing public health through cutting-edge forecasting models.

What we do

At AI4Casting, we harness the power of mathematical, statistical, and computational models to provide continuous forecasting for both endemic and emerging human diseases. Our work focuses on public policy and public knowledge, utilizing individual and ensemble forecasting on publicly available data. Through our $200,000 NSERC Alliance Society grant and $100,000 from Sanofi, we aim to quantify and describe individual decision-making mechanisms influenced by public health information and policy. Our goal is to support public health planning, pandemic preparedness, and reduce the impact of diseases like RSV, COVID-19, and the flu. Join us as we strive to deepen our global impact, build a sustainable future, and uphold U of G’s reputation in OneHealth.
